The Student Illinois Education Association (IEA) 2018 Spring Conference will be held on Friday, April 6 and Saturday, April 7, 2018. All Governors State students in SEA who are planning a career as a future teacher are encouraged to attend.
The conference is split into TWO days:
- April 6 – SERVICE PROJECT @ Hubble Middle School in Warrenville from 12-3:15pm. Conference attendees will work with middle school students at multiple stations, leading activities such as craft projects, read alouds, games, etc. Dinner buffet will be provided. One-night stay in a hotel (optional).
- April 7 – PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT @ the Hilton Hotel in Lisle/Naperville from 8:45am-3:15pm (3003 Corporate West Drive
Lisle, Illinois 60532 USA). Those who register for this event will get to choose what elective sessions they would like to attend. These sessions include discussions about how to develop student assessments, how the law will impact teaching, effective classroom management strategies, classroom communities, and teaching with technology. In addition, attendees can choose to go to either an elementary teacher panel or a middle and high school teacher panel. Breakfast and lunch buffets will be provided.
