Summary

This workshop was offered to any student planning to work in a school or education related field. The workshop covered how educators can teach about the contributions of the LGBTQ community and how we can support those learners in the classroom. Dr. Cooney and Dr. Pennington provided us with various strategies and resources such as: books and activities to do in the classroom that supports these students, how we can diversify your curriculum to include voices of the LGBTQ community as well as how to communicate and work collaboratively with your students families and the administration of your school.
