Project Learning Tree (PLT) Training Workshop

- About: Education students will be given information and skills to better implement science concepts across other disciplines.
- Leaders in Charge: Michelle Westergaard
- Audience: Open to all students in the education programs and educators in the community. Members of SEA/ KDP have priority registration.
- Attendees: Receive training certificates and materials after completing the workshop. Teachers can earn CPDUs.

IEA Student Conference
- Friday, February 8th, 2019 from 3-9pm
Saturday, February 9th, 2019 from 7:30am-3:30pm - Hosted by: IEA (Illinois Education Association), Meredith Byers
- Location: Doubletree by Hilton in Bloomington, IL
- This conference is for future teachers throughout Illinois. All students who are entering education programs at colleges and universities around the state are encouraged to attend.
- The conference consists of several professional development sessions/seminars on various teaching topics.
- Dress Code: Business Attire
- Registration Fee: $5 (Now-Jan 8, “Early Bird Discount”) or $15 (Jan 9-31)

Literacy Project
- Wednesday, February 27, 2019 from 5:30-7pm
- Student leaders of SEA/KDP will organize a literacy event at Monee Elementary School.
- The project will celebrate the nationwide Read Across America (NEA) and Literacy Alive! (KDP).
- There will be several different stations of activities implementing reading, writing, art, and creativity.

S2S Conference (Student 2 Student)
- Friday, March 1, 2019 from 8am-1pm
- Hosted by: Governors State University
- GSU students will be organizing this event, forming the planning committee, and presenting at the conference.
- This is a great leadership opportunity for students to get involved in.
- Audience: ALL STUDENTS

D&B Spring Social
- Wednesday, April 17, 2019 from 6-10pm
- Organizers: SEA & KDP
- Location: Dave & Busters in Orland Park, IL
- End of the semester celebration.
- Food will be provided and paid for by KDP and SEA.
- Audience: Open to SEA & KDP members ONLY; friends/family can attend for a fee.

Beautification Day
- Saturday, April 20, 2019 (Earth Day) from 9am-12pm
- Organizers: SEA & KDP
- Leader in Charge: Michelle Westergaard & Hannah Gruben
- Location: TBD (local park)
- This event will focus on improving the landscape of a local park such as planting flowers and trees.
- Donations and volunteers are needed in order to make this a success.
- Westergaard and Gruben will request an IEA grant to fund this project.

Red Nose Day

- This is a fundraiser to help raise money for SEA & KDP. Half of all ticket purchases goes to our group.
