Career Workshop

  • Thursday, January 25th, 2018 at 4:00-6:00pm in the E-lounge
  • Organizers: SEA, KDP, Psych Club and PSI CHI
  • Guest Speakers will cover how to apply to jobs in schools and in psychology offices, as well as applying to graduate school.
  • Speakers will provide guidance; individual help will be provided on resumes and cover letters
  • Leaders in Charge: Stephanie Henning, Dr. Marlon Cummings
  • Audience: Open to all undergraduate and graduate students, particularly those in education, social work, counseling and psychology

Disaster Relief Project

  • COLLECTION: January 29 thru February 21, 2018
  • SORTING & PACKAGING: Tuesday, February 27, 2018
  • Organized by SEA; Funded by NEA grant.
  • Collecting items for those affected by Hurricane Harvey in Texas; specifically South Houston High School (SHHS).
  • Items Needed for donations: personal care & school supplies
  • Cash Donations: used to purchase trees/shrubs, picnic tables, and paint to renovate the outside of SHHS.
  • Drop Off: SEA office (G228) or donation boxes in the G-Building, 1st and 2nd floor.
  • Leaders in Charge: Jessica White, Reyna Hernandez, Dr. Katy Hisrich, Dr. Xiaobo She, and Dr. Amy Vujaklija.

Educator Workshop & Certification (Project Learning Tree)

  • Monday, February 19th, 2018 at 8:30am-12pm in the Literacy Zone
    • (President’s Day)
  • Hosted by: SEA & KDP
  • Trainer: Dr. Colleen Sexton (Associate Provost at GSU)
  • Workshop Features: hands-on training on environmental topics through indoor and outdoor activities, PreK thru 8th activity guide, and Official PLT Certification.
  • Cost: $22 (for materials distributed, training, and certification)
  • Audience: Elementary & Early Childhood Educators (undergraduate and graduate students)
