On Monday February 19th in the Literacy Zone, a Project Learning Tree training workshop was held by associate provost Dr. Colleen Sexton to 28 GSU students from several majors including early childhood, elementary education, secondary education, and social work.
Throughout the workshop, Dr. Sexton distributed Environmental Education textbooks to every participant that provided detailed descriptions of over 90 activities! She demonstrated appropriate demo lessons from the textbook to make students aware of their usefulness in an educational setting. In addition, those present at the workshop received a certificate of professional development for successfully completing the educator training.
Thank you very to all those who attended! SEA hopes that you benefited greatly from this workshop. A special thanks goes to Dr. Sexton for all the time and effort it took her to provide this training, especially considering she did it on her day off! Her passion and enthusiasm about environmental science was clearly evident and appreciated.
