Career Workshop Success

The Student Education Association (SEA) at Governor’s State University (GSU) hosted a career and resume workshop on Thursday, January 25 from 4-6pm in F1622 and the Lakeside Lounge. This workshop was a joint effort between the Student Education Association (SEA), Kappa Delta Pi Education Honor Society, Psi Chi Psychology National Honor Society, and the Psychology club at GSU. Students from across the university, including individuals within the Division of Education, Division of Social Work, and Division of Psychology and Counseling, attended this event. School administrators, psychologists, graduate school representatives, and student graduates provided beneficial information regarding: creating resumes, interviews, job and graduate school applications. Presenters at the event also provided tips on when to apply for positions and how to stand out from other applicants. The second part of this event included small group consultations and work sessions. In the work sessions students were able to receive individualized help with their resumes from experienced faculty and staff. A special thank you to our presenters, including school administrators Dr. LaMonica Williams and Dr. Saundra Mickles, counselors Kalyna Brumfield and Amina Dahleh, GSU Career Center representative Cynthia Staples, and recent GSU graduate Kinga Drag.
