Hi Student IEA members!

I hope the start of your semester is going well!
As Vice Chairperson for Student IEA, I would like to encourage you to sign-up for the Retired Mentor Program.
What is the RMP?
IEA’s retired teachers have dedicated their time to support us. Through this program, you will be paired with a retired teacher from Illinois to connect with them throughout the year. Many great things come from having a mentor, such as one-on-one conversations about real situations in the classroom, support through stressful times, and insight into the reality of teaching.
Why join the RMP?
The primary reason I, Samantha Allen, joined the RMP last year and rejoined this year was to gain a close relationship with someone who knows the in’s and out’s of teaching and can advise me on how to become a great teacher so I can positively impact lives, just as they did. Other people have said they joined to learn more about the grade level they are going into, get help with field work, have someone hold real education conversations with, and many more reasons.
Here is a short video about the RMP and the benefits of joining! I encourage you to show this to all your Student IEA friends so everyone can benefit from this amazing opportunity.
